Many brides dream about a gorgeous summer wedding – June is, after all, the most popular month to get hitched – but lately we’ve been thinking about the perks that come with tying the knot on the last night of the year.

Everyone wants to do something festive on New Year’s Eve – what’s more festive than watching two people promising eternal love and then toasting them all night?

You might even want to start with cocktails and dinner, and then say your vows after the stroke of midnight. Eight o’clock is a perfectly appropriate time to begin: what a fabulous idea!

Here you are some tips:

  •  Be aware many venues may be reserved for New Year’s Eve parties. Try to make reservations more than a year in advance

  • Send invitations to your guests in advance because it’s a holiday and many people may have standing plans

  • Use black, gold and silver color schemes and require sparkly bridesmaids dresses

  • Have a big clock or TV for the countdown

  • Purchase party accessories and favors to go with the New Year’s Eve theme.Good examples are personal champagne bottles, fortune cookies or personalized calendars for the year to come

  • If you love firework, this is the only occasion where they are not only welcome, but even encouraged

  • Lots of Champagne and sparkling wine are mandatory

Some of you are getting ready to say I do, as others have just got engaged and are now starting their wedding planning: we wish luck to all of you!
